About the artist

Anne Johnston is an oil and pastel artist, painting landscapes and seascapes, many of them miniatures.

Anne attended the School of Art & Design in Montreal, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, watercolour with Toni Onley and Chincook Tan, pastel with Michael Chesley Johnson and Doug Dawson.

Anne has illustrated books, and taught art and craft courses for adults and art and nature courses for children.

She has spent much time painting and hiking in mountainous regions of the world including:

  • Cascades & Olympics
  • Rockies & Wind River Range
  • Alps
  • Himalayas
  • Appalachians of Maine and New Hampshire - and even Mahoosic Notch
 
Sailing and flying her airplane have also influenced her view of the world.
